The Returned & Services League of Australia was originally formed in 1916 to aid
& serve the concern for current, as well as former servicemen and servicewomen. The RSL mission statement is to ensure that programs are in place for the well-being, care, compensation and commemoration of serving and ex-service Defence Force members and their dependants, and promote Government and community awareness of the need for a secure stable and progressive Australian country.

Embroidery of the finest quality to the official RSL design colours & specifications. The RSL badge is described as being a shield surmounted by a crown signifying allegiance to Queen and country. Below the royal crown are the national flowers of Australia, Wales, England, Scotland and Ireland the wattle, the leek, the rose, the thistle along with the shamrock, representing the link between these countries.
Depicted in the centre of the badge, encircled by the name of the organisation, are a sailor, a soldier, an airman and servicewoman marching together with their arms linked in friendship. This is to show that within the circle of the League, all Services and all ranks march together in unity and comradeship. Within the badge the red represents the blood ties of war. The white background stands for the purity of the motives in joining the league & to render service without thought of personal gain and ambition. The colour blue indicates a willingness to render that service to a comrade anywhere under the blue sky - wherever he or she may be.
