HINGED WINDSOCK POLE BASE
Hinged base windsock poles or pivoting windsock poles, are also known as folding, tilting, cantilever base, or tilt down see-saw windsock poles, are ideal for all sites. When it comes to windsock poles, our superior designed, precision laser cut steel hinged bases allows for fast, work safe and simple windsock replacement anytime. No more cherry pickers, travel towers or boom lifts required. Hinged base windsock poles are installed in combination with our welded inground cage bolt assemblies & timber installation templates. Super heavy duty high tensile strength aluminium or polished stainless steel windsock poles, structural engineer certified to withstand cyclonic winds, category 1 - 5. Suitable for A1- A5. B. C. D. regions of Australia.
Wall mount or wall mountable windsock poles come complete with a set of heavy duty galvanised steel wall brackets, designed to facilitate ease of installation and provide lasting corrosion resistance. Easily affixed to brick walls, concrete tilt slab walls, building facades and virtually any suitable structure such as, onsite shipping containers or drilling machinery skids. Wall mountable windsock poles come with an additional aluminium tube, which is used as a template to correctly set & pre affix the wall brackets in place prior to final fitting & fixing of the windsock pole itself. The use of the supplied template tube is considered far safer when installing wall mounted windsock pole brackets or fixing windsock poles when working at heights.
BOLT TO CONCRETE BASE
These fully galvanised universal, dual purpose windsock pole bases can be utilised as a standard base with an inground cage bolt assembly, or alternatively, bolted directly to a suitable industrial grade concrete base via stainless steel Dyna Bolts. Direct bolt to concrete windsock pole installations are only utilised for industrial or commercial hard areas, building rooftops, airports, aviation landing strips, helipads, or where a suitable concrete base is available or specified by architects for above ground windsock pole installations. The feasibility of a bolt to concrete windsock pole installation should be considered via consultation with a qualified structural engineer to ascertain the concrete base's depth, strength and stability required.
CAGE BOLT ASSEMBLY
Our superior designed and manufactured windsock pole cage bolt assemblies are precision welded, forming a single heavy duty inground installation box frame of galvanised steel. Unlike inferior hard to install J bolt systems, our box cage frames are easy to install when used in conjunction with our timber installation templates. Being of a box type construction, they provide super high strength and will remain permanently fixed without movement within the concrete footing. Additionally, we recommend that three pieces of Rio Mesh be used at the bottom, centre & below the top of the concrete footing, or foundation. Steel Rio Mesh provides additional reinforcement to the concrete, ensuring protection against cracking and reduction of possible movement of the concrete footing in clay or certain type sub-soils. All above ground cage bolt components, including steel lock nuts and washers are also galvanised, meaning no parts of the windsock poles cage frame or base plate are subject to any movement, rust or corrosion. Therefore offering the most superior, durable, reliable and professional windsock pole installation available in Australia.
INSTALLATION TEMPLATE
Our unique windsock installation templates are used in conjunction with cage bolt assemblies. They are a simple and reliable installation method providing several benefits. Firstly, the template allows the setting required for the correct cage frame thread height to be attained by adjusting the washers and nuts on top of the template itself. Secondly, it helps form the top of the curing concrete into a flat square base pad by means of levelling across the board during installation while the concrete is wet. Once the concrete has cured, the template is removed, revealing a perfectly level flat pad for the windsock pole hinged base or fixed base plate. Always use structural grade concrete for windsock pole footings and allow concrete to cure before the windsock pole is set up or installed.
INGROUND SPIGOT TUBE
Inground spigot tubes are suitable for lower height windsock poles, or as a more economical means of installation. Firstly, the ground is excavated and concrete is poured. Next, the spigot tube is set into the windsock poles footing center at the correct depth. After this, the spigot tube is then levelled and braced using timber at all opposite points, then retained in place until the concrete has fully cured. Once the concrete has cured, the windsock pole is raised over the internal spigot tube & pushed down to the bottom of the footing. Final fixing the pole via, rivet.
ANODISED FINISH
Our windsock poles are supplied with a superior marine grade 20 micron anodised finish, providing the most durable and corrosion resistant finish available. Anodised finishes are unique, as the finish itself is directly etched into the aluminium surface, therefore offering a far superior, complete internal and external resistance to any oxidisation or corrosion. Anodised finishes are especially important within a marine environment, seaport area or coastal region and are regarded as a first class finish. Our marine grade anodised windsock poles are simply the best you can buy!
Windsock poles are manufactured from T6-6063 or T6-6082 high tensile aluminium. To Australian standards AS1170.1 - 2002, AS1170.2 -2011 Wind Loadings. AS1664.2 -1997 Aluminium Structures Code, AS4100-1998 Steel Structures Code.AS4680 - 2006 Hot-dip Galvanised (zinc) coatings on ferrous steel articles.
